  1. This quote is kind of a "No crap, Sherlock," Quote. It's just one of those quotes that makes me want to walk up to the character that spoke it and smack them upside the head

  2. This quote makes me feel like John believes he is going to get away with every lie he has told and every crime he has committed. This statement makes John seem so arrogant, like from the very beginning, since he left Scotland he knew he was going to get away with never talking to Polly again, and he knew when he murdered her that he wouldn't get caught. It infuriates me, but makes me laugh at the same time because John is being investigated and he doesn't even know it. I still hope that he will be exposed and punished.

  3. In this statement john reveals that from the moment he killed Polly he knew he would follow through with his actions and maintain his innocence. this statement shows the reader John is a man entirely without any moral character and obviously not mentally stable. However, the web of lies he has spun is already closing in on him. his inconsistencies and mistakes in his deceits can not be ignored.

This statement shows how John thought he could keep on lying and hide from the truth and never get caught.. He believed he was invincible. He also never felt bad for any of his lies, which made it easier for him to do. However, John has now lied way too much, causing much suspicion, therefore leading to investigations. I hope that John gets caught and punished for all his wrong doings.

  5. This statement shows Johns arrogance and false confidence in full light. Even after everything that has happened, John still believes that he can get away with everything. Just because he had gotten away with everything so far, he believes that he can get away with anything, even murder. All 'good' things have to come to an end sometime.
