I think that in the jury deliberation room, there would have been a fair bit of gossiping, since there is no way that a jury could be completely objective. It's just not possible. No person is totally and completely neutral on every single subject. It's just impossible.
I think there would have been a lot of questions people would want to know. Questions like why he had to kill Polly instead of just getting a divorce. There would have also been a lot of discussion and arguments that would have erupted. John's case is one that is very interesting yet sickening. I can only imagine the amount of questions and concerns
I think people would have been confused. John has a strange way of thinking and its hard for people to understand. He doesn't know how to handle different situations, instead of just getting a divorce, he decides to kill Polly. He takes every situation to the extreme, so its hard to make an opinion about what happened. Thats why I think many people wavered from one opinion to the other, not sure what conclusion to make out of Johns case. There must have been a lot of disagreement, arguing, and gossip.
I think that there would be a lot of angry, confused and scared people. People would question their safety, and question how well the police could really do their jobs if John was left free for so long. I'm sure many people that had gotten to know John would feel betrayed to find out he was a murdering liar. There would be a lot of unhappy people who want answers. I think it would be chaotic and hysterical. People would be gossiping because this is such a scandal. No one really comprehends why John did what he did, which makes it even harder for the people to understand what is happening or what they should/should not believe.
I think that there would be a lot of side conversations going on as people would be gossipping and asking many questions. It would have been filled with angry people who want John punished, sad people who mourn/weep for Polly and her family, and curious people who just want answers. I think it would be a very busy placed filled with many, many people, as John's case was so terrible.
