Eileen Wismer is seeing the Wilson families as a lot of deceitful people, gullible women, and idiotic parents. She is getting rather concerned about Polly's state, and is about to investigate, as far as I can tell.
I think Eileen is very confused about the Wilson family. She doesn't trust John and knows that something weird is going on and there is something that John isn't telling her. She obviously cares about Polly and is worried about her because the things that John are telling her don't make sense. Just by trying to piece things together she can feel that something is wrong and wants to get to the bottom of it.
I think that Eileen was very suspicious about John in the beginning, and had no reason at all to trust him, but now she is starting to feel sorry for him because of the lie he is telling about Polly (that she is buying in to). Even though she says she doesn't like him or trust him he is still such a convincing liar that Eileen changes her attitude towards him and starts to feel sympathy for him in his (fake) situation. I think that Eileen still doesn't trust John 100% and thinks something is wrong with Polly, and that there is more to the story than what John is telling.
I believe that Eileen is having strong mixed feelings about the Wilson family. She feels sorry for what is happening but she also feels like things just aren't adding up and she is becoming suspicious. Because she cares about their situation so much, and especially Polly, I think that she will try and find out more about what is really going on, and see if her suspicions are right.

I think that Eileen doesn't like John as she sees he is a liar and treats her friend Polly very poorly. Eileen loves Polly and wants the best for her, and sees that John doesn't seem like a suitable husband at all. Eileen doesn't trust John and is very suspicious about him, so I believe she will remain thinking this way until she finds out who John actually is.
Eileen has never found john to be an honorable man, however she sympathises with him for the situation he and Polly are supposedly in. She wants to believe that John has changed but her intuition still says that something is amiss.
Eileen knew that something was up with John. She didn't want to stir the pot, but she also wanted to keep Polly safe. But she also doesn't know if John is who Polly needs protection from.
