  1. i think John switched to telegrams instead of writing letters because he doesn't know Polly's writing style and it's easier to just write short little messages instead of a long letter. - Jared

  2. I think John switched from writing letters to telegrams because short, concise messages are a lot less personal compared to long written letters. If John is going to continue with his compulsive lying, and try to cover up the fact that he murdered Polly, and if he is going to continue writing to Polly's friend impersonating Polly, he is going to need to keep his messages short, concise and impersonal to ensure that nobody becomes suspicious and discovers the truth, that Polly is dead.

  3. I think John switched to writing telegrams because he doesn't have to go into much detail. He can just say a few words that are straight to the point. Also, John doesn't know Polly writing style or hand writing so this makes it a lot easier for John to pretend to be Polly.

  4. John stitched to telegrams because they are the only form of communication which John could hope to impersonate Polly through. His voice would betray him through the telephone and he couldn't hope to imitate Pollys cursive, writing style or voice through letters.

  5. John switched to writing telegrams because it aids him in weaving his web of lies. He doesn't know his wife's writing style, so this way he doesn't have to think about it. He just has to get to the point & be done with it.

  6. Johns switched from letters to telegrams because he won't have to try and match Polly's writing and he doesn't have to put any emotion into the writing because of how short telegrams are. This way, nobody will suspect that it is someone else who is sending the letters instead of Polly.

  8. I think that John switched from writing letters to writing telegrams because it would be extremely difficult to try and write like Polly. Her family and friends would recognize that the writing does not sound like her, and would become very suspicious. By writing telegrams, John can make his points quickly and clearly so that no one noticies it is actually him who is writing the telegrams.

  9. John switching to telegrams was about being vague, and not recognized as himself. He wanted it to be as hard as possible to find it was himself.
