Book One, Chapters XX and XXI

What do you think of John's cover-up and cover story?

  1. I think that John's cover-up and cover story are sloppy, at best. He keeps switching his stories, and there are major holes in his explanations. If he continues this, it's going to end badly for everyone involved, and I think that Jessie is going to end up like Polly, if not somehow worse off.

  2. Johns cover-up and cover story are vague and inconsistent. He will add and remove details and then switch some and put some back in, etc. Someone is going to figure out what he is up to eventually, and he is going to regret everything.

  5. John's cover story is vague, poorly thought out, and wildly inconceivable. He is like Donald Trump, changing his "truth" every time he is asked. Those are the reasons why he's going to get caught. You never change your story.
